Story:
From the cross to the return of Jesus, the Holy Spirit is who guides, directs, and convicts us. Without the Holy Spirit, our life and moral compass is broken.
Dove: Why a dove? The dove is what is represented as the Holy Spirit. Because when John the Baptist baptized Jesus, it says in Matthew 3:16- 'When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold the heavens were opened to Him and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." '
After Jesus' resurrection, He told His disciples that He will be sending the Holy Spirit in order to do the Great Commission.
Luke 24:49- "Behold, I send the promise of my father upon you; but Terry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high."
Approximately 10 days after Jesus ascended to Heaven, Pentecost happened. The Holy Spirit came as a rushing wind where they were all gathered.
Acts 2: 3 & 4 - Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
After Pentecost, they went and did the Great Commission.
The Great Commission:
Matthew 28: 18-29 - Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Ministring: Wear the Necklace as a reminder for yourself but ALSO to catch the eyes of people. They may compliment the necklace, or ask about it. This is an opportunity for you to tell the story of Jesus' sacrifice.
When they ask, simply state the name of the necklace and see if that inquires more curiousity. If so, you can dive into the story or give them the card.
When you wear the necklace, be intentional of why you are putting it on and the possibility someone may ask about it. Have the cards with you so after the encounter, they have a reminder and a reference for more.
Purpose: At the least: Plant a seed. At the most: Lead them to the acceptance of Christ and get them connected to a church or ministry for discipleship.
